What personal data Pedestrian collects, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Pedestrian is an SEO platform that helps businesses research keywords, track rankings, audit their websites and monitor backlinks. Pedestrian is operated from Lagos, Nigeria. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Pedestrian.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

  • Account details: your name, email address and a securely hashed password, or your Google account ID if you sign in with Google.
  • Project data: the websites you add, the keywords you research or track, competitors, and your settings.
  • Billing details: your top-ups, spend and budget, and the name and receipt you send with a bank transfer. We don’t take card payments.
  • Usage data: the pages and features you use, your browser and device type, and your IP address.

How we use it

  • To provide Pedestrian and run the data requests you ask for.
  • To show costs, apply your monthly budget and send budget alerts.
  • To keep accounts secure and prevent abuse.
  • To understand which features are used so we can improve them.
  • To send service emails, such as password resets. Product news is sent only if you opt in.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with providers that help us run Pedestrian:

  • Supabase hosts our database.
  • Cloudflare runs our servers and stores files such as transfer receipts.
  • DataForSEO receives the domains, keywords and prompts you look up so it can return search data. It does not receive your name or email.
  • Resend delivers our emails.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Where your data is stored

Some of our providers store data on servers outside Nigeria. When that happens, we rely on the safeguards allowed under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, such as contractual commitments to protect your data.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you close your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except billing records we must keep by law.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent at any time. Most of this can be done in Account settings; for anything else, email support@usepedestrian.com. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your projects are private to your account, and our team accesses customer data only when needed to support you.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We use analytics cookies only if you allow them, and you can change that choice at any time.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we will email you and show a notice in Pedestrian before they take effect.
